Frazetta Tribute
I remember seeing my first Frank Frazetta painting as a kid. The action, the drama, the romance, the danger, the adventure. Each work somehow seemed to contain it all. Who could create such a place? I dared to dream that this could possibly be out there somewhere... in this world; this epic drama being played out in each of his paintings. I wanted to be a part of it. His figures seemed to push the bounds realism in their perfection and strength as does his vivid use of color, texture, and atmosphere. It was almost to much to take in.
I was privileged enough to visit his gallery, Frazetta's Fantasy Corner in East Stroudsburg, PA, as a young teen. That of course only fueled my enthusiasm for his work. This was before he had built the museum in 1999.
In my tribute work to Frank Frazetta I am aware I stand on hallowed ground. They are a testament of my admiration and appreciation of his iconic paintings.
As incredibly exciting as it is for me to create these paintings, they're for Frazetta fans everywhere as well. |
